Proton initiates PDRM testing for eMas EV and PHEV models
Proton has officially handed over its new eMas electric vehicle lineup to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for a comprehensive usability evaluation. The testing phase includes the eMas 5, eMas 7 EV, and the eMas 7 PHEV to determine their suitability for law enforcement operations. To support this initiative, Gentari will provide free charging services throughout the trial period.
The pilot program involves the deployment of the eMas 5, the fully electric eMas 7, and the plug-in hybrid eMas 7 PHEV into the PDRM fleet. By subjecting these models to real-world police duty cycles, Proton aims to gather critical data on performance, durability, and electronic integration in demanding environments. This evaluation is a significant milestone in Proton's electrification strategy, ensuring their new energy vehicles meet the rigorous standards required for public service.
