Proton has officially handed over its upcoming eMas electric vehicle lineup to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for comprehensive usability testing. The evaluation will focus on the eMas 5, the eMas 7 EV, and the eMas 7 PHEV to determine their suitability for law enforcement operations.
The handover, which took place last week, marks a significant milestone in Proton's electrification journey and its commitment to supporting national infrastructure. By providing the eMas 5, eMas 7 EV, and the plug-in hybrid eMas 7 PHEV to PDRM, Proton aims to gather critical real-world performance data under demanding patrol conditions. This testing phase is essential for assessing how these new electric and hybrid powertrains manage the rigorous requirements of police duty, ranging from urban patrolling to rapid response scenarios.
To support the testing phase, Gentari has stepped in to provide free charging services for the fleet, ensuring the vehicles maintain optimal uptime during the evaluation period.
