Proton eMas EV and PHEV Models Enter PDRM Evaluation Phase Supported by Gentari

Proton has officially handed over its eMas 5, eMas 7 EV, and eMas 7 PHEV models to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) for rigorous operational testing. This initiative is designed to evaluate the usability and performance of Proton’s new electrified lineup within the demanding context of law enforcement duties.

The handover, which took place last week, marks a significant milestone for Proton’s eMas sub-brand as it seeks to validate its electric and plug-in hybrid technologies in real-world, high-intensity environments. By putting the eMas 5 and the dual-variant eMas 7 through PDRM’s evaluation process, the manufacturer aims to gather critical data regarding the reliability, durability, and overall suitability of these vehicles for official patrol and utility tasks.

To ensure the testing phase proceeds without logistical interruption, Gentari has stepped in to provide complimentary charging services for the evaluation fleet. This collaboration highlights the growing synergy between automotive manufacturers and energy providers in Malaysia, signaling a potential shift toward sustainable mobility within the public sector should the vehicles meet the stringent requirements of the Royal Malaysian Police.
