Selangor Expands RM30 Monthly Public Transport Subsidy to Include KTM Komuter
The Selangor state government has officially expanded its RM30 monthly public transport subsidy to include KTM Komuter services. This update significantly increases the utility of the existing scheme, which was previously limited to first-and-last-mile feeder services.
Under the newly updated terms, commuters can now apply their monthly RM30 credit toward KTM Komuter rail travel, providing much-needed relief for those navigating the state's rail network. This expansion is designed to offer a more comprehensive transport solution, allowing passengers to combine rail transit with existing subsidized services to streamline their daily commutes.
Prior to this announcement, the subsidy was strictly applicable to Rapid KL On-Demand and Kumpool, services specifically utilized for bridging the gap between residential areas and major transit hubs. By incorporating the KTM Komuter, the state government is taking a more holistic approach to urban mobility, ensuring that both long-distance rail connections and short-distance feeder trips are financially accessible to the public.
