Rapid KL nears completion of platform door installations across LRT lines
Rapid KL has reached the 85% milestone in its phased rollout of platform screen doors for the Kelana Jaya and Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT lines. This ongoing safety initiative aims to significantly enhance passenger security and minimize the risk of platform-related accidents.
The installation project, which officially commenced on August 1, is progressing steadily across major stations within the transit network. By implementing these doors in stages, Rapid KL intends to mitigate the risk of commuters falling onto tracks while ensuring that daily operations and commuter flow remain largely undisrupted during the construction phase.
As the project moves toward its final stages, the scope extends to key transit hubs, including the Putra Heights station. Once fully implemented, these platform doors will serve as a critical safety barrier, aligning the local rail infrastructure with international safety standards for high-capacity urban transit systems.
