Kawasaki Ninja 650 Receives Major Hardware Upgrades for 2027
Kawasaki has announced a significant hardware evolution for the 2027 Ninja 650, focusing on elevated chassis and braking performance. The mid-weight sportbike will receive several premium component upgrades aimed at enhancing rider control and precision.
The most impactful change lies in the suspension and braking systems, where Kawasaki has moved away from conventional setups in favor of high-performance hardware. The 2027 model will feature 37 mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork - Big Piston) inverted forks, replacing the previous standard front end to provide superior damping and handling. To complement this, the braking performance is bolstered by a transition from two-piston axial-mount calipers to more aggressive radial-mount four-piston units, ensuring greater stopping power and improved tactile feedback.
Beyond these mechanical refinements, the Ninja 650 also receives a refreshed TFT display layout, modernizing the cockpit experience to align with the brand's higher-displacement models. These updates collectively signal Kawasaki's intent to bridge the gap between its entry-level middleweights and its more premium supersport lineup. By prioritizing components like Showa suspension and radial brakes, the 2027 Ninja 650 is positioned as a significantly more capable machine for enthusiast riders.
