Hyundai has announced a strategic price reduction for the 2026 Tucson lineup in Malaysia, offering savings of up to RM8,000 on selected models. As part of this commercial realignment, the entry-level 2.0L naturally aspirated variant has been officially discontinued. The updated pricing for the compact SUV now ranges from RM160,000 to RM190,000.
The facelifted Hyundai Tucson, which made its Malaysian debut last July, is undergoing these changes to enhance overall customer value. While the price cuts provide more competitive entry points for higher-spec models, the removal of the RM144,000 2.0L engine shifts the lineup's starting point upward. This move suggests a refinement of the product mix to better cater to the current market demands.
According to Hyundai, this pricing adjustment is a "strategic" maneuver designed to widen access to a "premium SUV ownership experience." By streamlining the range and focusing on more mid-to-high tier specifications, the brand aims to solidify the Tucson's position within the competitive C-segment SUV landscape, emphasizing premium features over low-end affordability.
