Malaysia’s transition toward higher biodiesel blends is showing substantial results in reducing national fuel dependency. According to recent government data, the B15 biodiesel mandate has facilitated significant monthly savings in diesel consumption across the country.
Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad confirmed that between June and August, the B15 initiative saved an average of 23.62 million litres of diesel per month. This data highlights the immediate impact of integrating higher concentrations of palm-based biofuel into the national fuel supply chain, providing a measurable reduction in conventional diesel usage.
This milestone reflects the Malaysian government's ongoing commitment to leveraging its robust commodities sector to bolster energy security.
